IPL 2023 Schedule: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has informed prospective broadcasters that it prefers an 8 p.m. start time for IPL matches beginning with the 2023 edition. This choice was taken since cricket matches often conclude around 8 p.m.
The contests now begin at 7:30 PM IST, and the calendars have been pushed forward towards the desire of Star Sports, the authorized broadcaster for the past 5 years. The BCCI has informed firms eager for broadcasting rights that it intends to offer them during the five-year term which will take part from 2023 to 2027.
During the first decade of the Indian Premier League, the fixtures used to begin at 4 p.m. with respect to days with double-headers and at 8 p.m. The current official broadcaster, Star, argued that starting the play at 7:30 PM will result in a significant increase in the audience while also providing more opportunities for utilization. As a direct result of this, the beginning times for the afternoon games have been moved forward to 3:30 p.m.
BCCI further extends the date for purchasing the ITT documents till May 20
IPL 2023 Schedule: “BCCI’s preferred start times for double-headers being 4 pm and 8 pm Indian Standard Time”, BCCI has interacted with companies who have shown enthusiasm for the Indian Premier League and are prepared to invest in the league’s broadcast and copyrights for the five-year term spanning 2023-2027.
“Pursuant to requests from various interested parties, BCCI has now decided to further extend the date for purchasing the ITT documents till May 20, 2022. The procedure for purchasing the ITT documents is laid down in Exhibit I. All other terms contained in Exhibit I (including the non-refundable ITT fee amount) shall be applicable herein,” the BCCI pushed out the final date for purchasing the ITT paperwork by 10 days, bringing it up to the 20th of May in 2022.
On June 12, the tender process for the Indian Premier League’s broadcast rights & digital rights will begin for the next five-year phase. This procedure is scheduled to be held officially. The total base price that BCCI has established for the 4 different bundles that it is offering for purchase is Rs 32,890 crore.
Furthermore, the following companies have purchased the ITT document: Star India, Sony, Dream 11, Viacom 18, Amazon, Zee, Supersports in South Africa, and Sky in the United Kingdom.
