IPL 2022, RCB vs CSK Highlights: Royal Challengers Bangalore played Chennai Super Kings in the 49th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Bangalore defeated CSK by 13 runs, putting themselves in a commanding position in the points table. RCB’s bowling unit has been phenomenal in the action, collecting wickets at regular intervals.
Despite winning the toss, CSK opted for RCB to bat first, and the latter did so brilliantly, with former captain Virat Kohli elevated to start the innings with current skipper Faf du Plessis. The pair got off to a fantastic start in the innings, putting on a 62-run partnership for the first wicket before coming up short to Moeen Ali, who bowled Faf 38 (22).
Virat and Glenn Maxwell joined up in an attempt to solidify the innings, but the execution failed as CSK skipper MS Dhoni stole the spotlight with a lightning stump, wherein Maxwell walked out for a run-out for only three runs. In the same over, Moeen bowled Kohli on 30(33). Eventually, Mahipal Lomror and Rajat Patidar made a powerful stance to get the scoreboard checked. With a superb knock, the duo put on a 44-run stand to the wicket before Rajat Patidar was removed for 21 (15) by Pretorius.

M Theekshana struck frequently for CSK in the 19th over of the innings, removing a well-established hitter Lomror 42 (27), W Hasaranga for a golden duck, and Shahbaz Ahmed 1 for a duck (2). Dinesh Karthik once again showcased his unbeaten quickfire performance with 26 (17), including two maximums and a four – to post a decent target of 174 for the defending champions, upon losing 8 wickets.

CSK also got off to a solid start in the run chase set by Bangalore. The openers, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway put on a 54-run stand for the first wicket. After getting the predicted breakthrough, RCB switched strategies and brought in Shahbaz Ahmed to replace Gaikwad 28 (33). Devon Conway, on the other extreme, maintained his masterpiece innings by hammering the ball that came into his yard, raising hopes for CSK to win another game.
Furthermore, Conway is lacking an ideal partner to help him maintain the momentum towards forming a vital wicket-to-wicket partnership. Where Maxwell removed Robin Uthappa 1 (13) and Ambati Rayudu 10 (8) to put the CSK batsmen in a bind. Harshal Patel came in after Maxi, who bowled efficiently to take middle-order wickets at regular intervals, giving no room for the CSK hitters. Harshal removed Moeen Ali, who scored 34 (27), Ravindra Jadeja 3 (5), and Dwaine Pretorius 13 (8). Skipper MS Dhoni too struggled to perform the finisher’s job, who was dismissed for only two runs by Hazlewood. MS Dhoni
The CSK batting order collapsed at regular intervals, missing batsmanship from the middle and lower order. CSK has suffered big setbacks as key players have been out due to injury, and they have now failed to extend their winning run. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore is outstanding, with their bowling unit restricting Super Kings to a 13-run win to take a comfortable position in the points standings. CSK’s chances of surviving in the current season are now in jeopardy.
Respect, always. 🙌🏻🫂#PlayBold #WeAreChallengers #IPL2022 #Mission2022 #RCB #ನಮ್ಮRCB #RCBvCSK pic.twitter.com/zTmozLEwbp
