IND vs SL: India Women Team Take 10 Wicket Lead Against Sri Lanka

The Indian women’s team swept Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the second One-Day International to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the three-match series on Monday. They were unstoppable from beginning to end with both the bat and the ball.

It is important to note that the Indian team’s openers finally silenced their critics after being criticized for their subpar performance. They shared a partnership of 174 runs to see the visitors home in just 25.4 overs, which was the first time on the trip that they had fired.

By dismissing Sri Lanka for 173, the bowlers prepared the field for the tourists, and then Smriti Mandhana’s stroke-filled 94 off 83 balls and Shefali Verma’s run-a-ball 71 paved the way for the comprehensive victory.

The pair’s partnership against Sri Lanka is the greatest for all wickets for India.

The Indians entered the second match against a shaky Sri Lankan team as clear favorites after winning the first ODI with ease. The fact that they also won the earlier three-match T20I series gave the visitors more confidence.

After India won the toss, Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain, requested that Sri Lanka bat first on a surface that would be advantageous for the bowlers.

The hosts quickly got into a lot of difficulties as pacer Renuka Singh was accurate with her lengths right away.

With the bat, the 26-year-old was unbeatable. He had a career-high 4 for 28 and rattled the Sri Lankan top order with three rapid strikes.

Ama Kanchana, a lower-order batsman, kept the hosts in check for 83 balls although wickets continued to fall frequently. Deepti Sharma, an experienced off-spinner, assisted India in bowling out Sri Lanka by taking two wickets off the final two deliveries.

“We have been discussing long-term relationships. We talked about the necessity to give our all. The collaboration was excellent. The availability of bowling options is crucial “Harmanpreet started following the contest.

India defeated the host team in the last match of the series on Thursday in an attempt to complete a 3-0 sweep after winning the opening ODI by four wickets.
