MI Emirates signs four domestic players for the inaugural season of ILT20

MI Emirates signed four local UAE players in its team for the inaugural season of the International League T20.

The new players who will join the iconic blue and gold army are Muhammad Waseem. Also, Basil Hameed, Vriitya Aravind, and Zahoor Khan.

The new players join the Franchise Mumbai Indians’ ongoing initiatives. The franchise’s vision is to support, develop, and nurture young local talent and help them reach their full potential. With the presence of MI Emirates, MI Global has increased its presence in this growing host cricketing country. The team offers the same morals and principles that make the Mumbai Franchise one of the best teams in the order.

The MI Emirates team, led by Kieron Pollard and including players such Dwyane Bravo, Nicholas Pooran, Imran Tahir, and Trent Boult, would be based in Abu Dhabi. The opening match of MI Emirates will be place at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, January 14, 2023. The entire team is seen here.

The UAE-local players to play for the MI Emirates

  • Muhammad Waseem, the 28-year-old right hand batsman represents the UAE national cricket team in ODI’s and International T20’s. He listed as the 14th best batsman on the ICC men’s T20 batting ratings.
  • Basil Hameed, an off-spin all-rounder represents the UAE national cricket team in all formats.
  • Zahoor Khan the right arm medium fast bowler debuted for the UAE national cricket team in 2017 and has played 37 ODI’s and T20I’s for UAE.
  • Vriitya Aravind, the 20-year-old is a top order batsman with more than 500 runs in T20I. He also is the Vice-Captain of the UAE national cricket team.
