ICC launched New Training and Education Programmes

The ICC has underscored its ongoing commitment to growing the game of cricket by releasing data from the first year of the new ICC Training and Education programs.

The initial launch of the program was in October of last year. Figures of the first 12 months show that more than 9,500 active learners have enrolled online in ICC education courses since then.

As a part of the Global growth, strategy ICC commits to providing world-class participation programs. 108 member countries are accessible to this, released last year.

The ICC Coaching Foundation Certificate is an entry-level coaching course. This first program is available to aspiring coaches, and over 3,200 students have already completed it.

The free course is available in nine languages – Arabic, English, French, German, Indonesian, Portuguese, Sinhalese, Spanish, and Tamil. One can use their pace to complete Sharp and short modules.

Coach education is expanding by following the success of the ICC Coaching Foundation Certificate. Also provides aspiring coaches with the opportunity to complete the ICC Coaching Course Level. Whereas, Coaching Course Level 1 which is deigned to deliver beginners is released in March of this year by ICC. on the other hand also providing more in-depth technical information on key game components.

Using Blended learning approach to deliver the course for online and in-person training.

End of this year more than 1,000 people are expected to have completed the course. The early Impact of the programs pleased William Glenwright. He also believes that more ICC Member countries will take advantage of the opportunity to participate in the courses.

“ICC Members have told us that improving access to a coach, umpire, and pitch curator training programs is one of the game’s top priorities,” Glenwright said.

Working with some of the world’s leading experts in sports education, we have spent past two years. “As a result, ICC is first-ever comprehensive Training and Education Programme and the response has been inspiring in a short period.

“Our ambition to improve the playing experience for participants at all levels of the game is reliant. By increasing the number and quality of coaches, umpires, and pitch curators in all Member countries.

“To do that we need to ensure there is access to a world-class education program. A trained workforce to deliver these courses, when and where Members need them. “Whilst we are in the early days of the program rollout, the response from Members and participants alike suggests that we are on the right track”.

The 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is to be in Australia from 16 October to 13 November 2022.
