How Many Times Rajasthan Royals Qualified For Playoffs?

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) are widely regarded as one of the most dominant teams in the annals of the Indian Premier League (IPL), having won the title during the initial season of the competition. Legendary  Shane Warne, a legendary player, led his franchise to victory in the debut season of the Indian Premier League in 2008. Eventually, they won the first edition of the Indian T20 League, and after that, they were instrumental in helping their team win yet another trophy. Here we have discussed How Many Times RR Qualified For Playoffs?

After the first season of the Premier League, RR has been in the postseason on 3 different occasions. They qualified for the postseason in three of the four seasons between 2013 and 2018. Through their third-place performance in the group round, the Royals earned a spot in the playoff chase. They were eliminated from the competition as a result of their loss to Mumbai Indians in the 2nd qualifying match after they had previously defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the eliminator.

After placing in the 4th spot in the league stage of the 2015 Indian Premier League, Rajasthan earned a spot in the playoffs. However, they were eliminated from the competition after suffering a loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the eliminator. With 14 points during the 2018 season, the Royals were able to move up one spot into fourth place. They were unable to go to the playoffs, however, as they were defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the elimination match at Eden Gardens by a score of 25 runs.

Royals’ Failure Has Been Their Inconsistency

The team’s performance was never stable over the seasons; nonetheless, they did sometimes give it their everything in an attempt to finish in the top four and go on to the final stage. Unfortunately, the Royals’ inconsistency was the primary factor in their poor performance yet again.

As a result of the betting scandal that occurred in 2013, Rajasthan was suspended for two seasons, which meant that they were unable to take part in either the 2016 and 2017 IPL competitions. They resumed their participation in the contest for the 2018 season.

In addition, before the auction for the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League, the Rajasthan franchise cut ties with 8 of its players, along with the team’s captain, Steve Smith. They also made the announcement that Sanju Samson will take over as team captain beginning with the 2021 season on the same day.

It is worth noting that many of the cricket players who have got to play for the Royals, possessing been acquired by them as fairly unknown performers, have finished up as the world’s leading cricket players. This is in part due to their successful performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the support they received from the Royals management.

In the meanwhile, Sanju Samson has been doing an outstanding job of leading the team throughout the current season of the Indian Premier League 2022. As of right now, they are positioned in the third slot in the rankings. They gave off the impression of being intimidating and were constant throughout both of their departments. RR has been victorious in eight of their last thirteen matches. They are sure that they will go to the playoffs and make it all the way to the title game to add a second victory to their record.
