IPL Auction 2020: When the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 auction began on Thursday evening in Kolkata, Australian pacer Pat Cummins topped the charts when Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for Rs 15.50 crore, the most expensive foreign buy to date.
Trailing behind him were Aussie all-rounder Glenn Maxwell who was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 10.75 crore. RCB took Chris Morris and Kings XI Punjab Sheldon Cottrell for 10 and 8.5 crores, respectively.
Nathan Coulter-Nile was taken by Mumbai Indians for Rs 8 crore and Shimron Hetmyer by Delhi Capitals for Rs 7.75 crore.
Chennai Super Kings took Piyush Chawla and England all-rounder Sam Curran for Rs 6.75 crore and 5.5 crores, respectively. Aaron Finch was bought by RCB for Rs 4.4 crore, KKR took Eoin Morgan for Rs 5.25 crore, Jason Roy went to DC for Rs 1.5 crore
Among the top players, who were unsold today, are Dale Steyn, Tim Southee, Shai Hope, Mushfiqur Rehman, Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, Carlos Brathwaite, Marcus Stionis, Andrew Tye, Adam Zampa, among others
Meanwhile, Jaydev Unadkat was taken by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 3 crore and Mumbai Indians grabbed Chris Lynn for Rs 2 crore.
Other players who were bought today were Robin Uthappa by RR for Rs 3 crore and Chris Woakes by DC for Rs 1.5 crore.
For overseas buys, CSK and MI have no slots available, DC has one slot available and KKR can buy two more foreign players. KXIP can buy one while RCB, RR, and SRH can buy four, three and one overseas players, respectively.
