England and Pakistan are playing 2nd Test of the 3 match series at Multan. After lagging behind in the test for past 2 days, Pakistan has made some recovery.
ENG VS PAK: Pakistan Makes Recovery
Brook kicks off England after reaching 100 earlier today. It’s been a rather successful day for Pakistan, who quickly finished off England’s second innings this morning and significantly reduced their target. However, Imam’s dismissal at the eleventh hour, when he managed to slip off Leach, altered the course of the match, and England will now be hoping to quickly move through the lower middle order the following morning.
Despite having a somewhat better day, Pakistan is still behind in the game. With a target of 355, they began by taking the final 5 England wickets for 73 runs. Imam’s injury forced Rizwan to start the innings, and he gave Pakistan’s batting some vigor as they quickly reached 66/0 before lunch.
However, things quickly turned around when Anderson and Robinson bowled a few jaffas to dismiss Rizwan and Babar, respectively. Shafique then quickly followed, and they soon found themselves in trouble once more. Imam entered the field and immediately formed a partnership with Shakeel. The pair added a hundred-plus stand as they neared their half-centuries, but Leach struck just before the game’s end to give England the advantage.
ENG VS PAK: England Bundles Up for 275 in 2nd Innings
The lower order quickly collapsed after Harry Brook’s century, and England’s second innings was bundled out for 275 earlier in the day. Ben Stokes and David Brook increased their sixth wicket partnership to 101 when the latter slog swept Mohammad Nawaz to the fielder in deep, but for the majority of the opening hour, England continued to feast on Pakistan’s bowling.
His expulsion opened the door for England’s decline, with even the batters in the lower order not being timid. Robinson was taken care of by Abrar Ahmed after he missed a forceful swipe. After that, Zahid Mahmood took charge and claimed three victims in the course of two overs. Anderson was caught leg before, Brook holed out to the fielder at deep mid wicket, and Wood edged a legbreak to the slips.
ENG VS PAK: Match Analysis
This match has come to a very different angle. From day 1, although England continued with their approach to Bazball. Pakistan has shown a shift from their previous approach. They have definitely changed gears in this test match. They are a little attacking and it serves a great test for the viewers.
Although Imam really was taking Pakistan to another height, his wicket changed things for England. This puts the home side on the back leg. There is still a lot of cricket. We are definitely going to see a result in this exciting test.
