The Australian Women’s team is set to host Indian Women for a three-match ODI series which starts from December 5. The first two matches are scheduled at Allan Border Field, Brisbane, on December 5 and 8, while the final game is scheduled for December 11 at WACA Ground in Perth. India goes into this three-match ODI series against Australia, following a recent 2-1 series win over New Zealand after the T20 World Cup. The Indian squad is mostly at full strength, with the injury concern being wicketkeeper Yastika Bhatia, who had suffered a wrist injury. Uma Chetry has been called up to replace her.  

Meanwhile, the Aussies will be captained by the all-rounder Tahlia McGrath, as their regular captain Alyssa Healy was ruled out due to a knee injury that had kept her out of the remaining stages of the Women’s Big Bash League and the ODI series against India. McGrath’s leadership credentials were astonishing by her performance during the T20 World Cup, where she impressed with her leadership skills. 

Smriti Mandhana is on the verge of a major milestone, needing just 310 runs for 4000 0DI runs, a record she could tend to break in the series against Australia. Presently, Mithali Raj holds the record as the fastest Indian woman to reach the mark. If she breaks this record, she will be included in debates against the best players to ever play the game.
