Women Big Bash League Final: Season 08
The Two-time champions Sydney Sixers Women set to make history on Saturday
Women Big Bash League Final: The eighth season of the WBBL final, which is scheduled on Saturday at North Sydney Oval, clearly has a lot on the line. Sydney Sixers are aiming to reclaim their position as the WBBL’s dominant team, while Adelaide Strikers are seeking atonement following a heartbreaking loss to Perth Scorchers in the championship game of the previous season.
The Sixers dominated the early competition years and appeared in the first four championship games, winning back-to-back championships in the second and third iterations. However, they haven’t won since beating the Scorchers in February 2018 and were shockingly eliminated from playoff contention in 2017.
Impressive Performance this season in WBBL
Following an impressive comeback and a dominant regular season in which they finished first with 11 victories to automatically qualify for the championship, the Sixers will start as the betting favorite against the Strikers.
WBBL 08: Hobart Hurricanes
In contrast, the Hobart Hurricanes Women are ranked third in the points standings. With seven wins so far, they have 16 points under their belt. They will enter the playoffs if they win their last league game. In their previous game, they suffered a defeat to Adelaide Strikers Women.
Mignon du Preez scored 75 after being asked to bat first, but the Hurricanes Women were run out for 154 because of a lack of support from the other end. Only two wickets were taken by the bowlers as they were unable to contain the total. They’ll be hoping to perform significantly better when they next play the Sixers Women.
Sixers Possible Playing 11 for the WBBL 08 Final
After a week off, the Sixers should be well rested, and they will also benefit from playing at home. They have superstars on every team, and each player contributes equally. Maitlan Brown, who was injured, was replaced by young, speedy Kate Peterson.
Sydney Sixers: Suzie Bates, Alyssa Healy (WK), Ellyse Perry (C), Ashleigh Gardner, Erin Burns, Nicole Bolton, Sophie Ecclestone, Kate Peterson, Angelina Genford, Lauren Cheatle, Stella Campbell.
Pitch Conditions for the WBBL 08 Final
Sydney is expected to have sunny skies and a high of 23 degrees. Which will be perfect for the lovely North Sydney Oval. The ground’s short boundaries and quick outfield should ensure a high-scoring match because the pitch is typically favorable for batting.
