In order to commemorate 100 days until the world’s top cricketers from 16 teams fight for the ultimate prize in T20 cricket, Melbourne Cricket Ground’s (MCG) revered grass was moved into Melbourne’s downtown area. The ICC T20 World Cup Trophy Tour, sponsored by Nissan, was introduced by Australian international talents Aaron Finch, Georgia Wareham, and Tayla Vlaeminck, as well as cricket greats Shane Watson, Waqar Younis, and Morne Morkel. There will be more stops on The Trophy Tour than ever before, with 35 planned stops in 13 nations and four continents.

For the first time, the Men’s T20 World Cup trophy will visit Fiji, Finland, Germany, Ghana, Indonesia, Japan, Namibia, Nepal, Singapore, and Vanuatu. This will allow more followers of the sport to see the sport’s highest award while traveling to other nations.

With a 3D augmented reality filter available on the official T20 World Cup Facebook and Instagram channels, fans will be able to participate in The Trophy Tour from the comfort of their own homes. Cricket fans are urged to use the trophy filter to creatively display their home grounds for the world to see. Weekly celebrations of the finest fan-submitted photos will award a select few with prizes related to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

The ICC T20 World Cup 2022’s first match between 2014 Champions Sri Lanka and Namibia will be played in Geelong on October 16 as part of the Trophy Tour, which started in Melbourne and has since traveled the world.

On the T20 World Cup website’s dedicated Trophy Tour page or through the social media outlets for the tournament, fans may follow the trophy as it travels across the globe. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is expected to draw over 800,000 spectators thanks to the extra tickets made available today for every game save the October 23 encounter between India and Pakistan. When general admission tickets for this match went on sale to the general public in February, they were entirely sold out in less than five minutes.

With only 100 days until the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup kicks off, ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said: “There is a tremendous feeling of excitement ahead of the 16 nations coming together in Australia to battle for the greatest reward in T20 cricket.

“It’s a fantastic moment for cricket with so many world-class teams coming out to play all throughout the nation,” said Australian men’s team skipper Aaron Finch. With only 100 days left, the team’s anticipation for the possibility of competing in a home World Cup in front of our supporters is growing.

“As a player, there are few things that can beat playing in a home World Cup, and I can’t wait to witness the world’s finest T20 players on the fast, bouncy grounds in Australia,” said Shane Watson, ambassador for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy Tour, which is powered by Nissan. It will be a breathtaking spectacle.

With 100 days before the World Cup’s opening kickoff, Nissan Australia Managing Director Adam Paterson said: “Nissan is preparing for a magnificent event throughout the country. We are honored to sponsor the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy Tour, which is being driven by Nissan and has Nissan Ambassadors Mel Jones and Mitchell Johnson at the wheel, as we continue to play a significant part in fostering innovation and excitement.
