Adelaide Strikers Vs Melbourne Stars match highlights
Invited to bat, Melbourne Stars started very decently, but they suddenly lost their first wicket in the form of Jemimah Rodrigues.
Winfield-ill and Alice Capsey then steadied the ship for Melbourne, as they both added 81 for the second wicket.
Capsey, who was looking in good touch with 49 in 30 balls, removed by Jemma Barsby. Her knock included five fours and two sixes.
Annabel Sutherland then couldn’t manage to give her side a reliable partnership as she walked back after scoring just 8 runs.
The opener Winfield-ill soon too returned to the pavilion. She played a knock of 47 in 49.
With 129 on board in 16.3 overs, it was looking that Melbourne stars may put 160 o board. But, Tess Flintoff then changed the whole scenario of the game with her smashing fifty. She took just 16 balls to play a knock of 51 and guided her side to a whopping total of 186 for 5 in 20 overs.
Her knock included 6 fours and 3 sixes and that was all Melbourne needed at last.
Deandra Dottin was the pick of the bowler for Adelaide, who took 2 wickets by giving 34 runs in her 4 overs.
Adelaide Strikers to chase 187 in 20 overs
It was not a good start for Adelaide, as in a 187-run chase target they lost their strong batter Deandra Dottin.
Katie Mack and Laura Wolvaardt then added 62 for the second-wicket and their partnership brought the side back in game. Her stand of 62 was crucial for the team, as they not only steadied the ship but also did a contribution in just 37 balls.
The third and fourth wickets were fall down early, but again a good partnership was visible there, as a 48-run partnership between Bridget Patterson and Medline Penna provided some hopes for the side.
But as soon as Patterson left the crease, Adelaide faced a tough time there, the task was difficult though to score 46 off last 16 balls, and they can’t handle the pressure and lost the game by 22 runs.
Sasha Moloney starred with the bowl for Melbourne, as in her 4 overs she just gave 24 runs but took 4 big wickets.
