The third and the final ODI of India and West Indies’ three-match series did not feature Arshdeep Singh in the starting lineup. When Men in Blue captain Shikhar Dhawan declared that Prasidh Krishna would replace Avesh Khan after winning the toss against the West Indies at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, the decision on the Men in Blue lineup was questioned on social media.

Fans were disappointed that the left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh didn’t have the chance to play in an ODI despite India holding a 2-0 unbeatable lead in the three-match series. A chance to play against England in a T20 international was provided to the Punjab Kings bowler who excelled with his efforts in the IPL 2022 season.

But in all three of the ODI matches against the West Indies, he was not included in the starting lineup. Notably, when given the chance to bowl against England, Arshdeep took 2 wickets with an amazing economy rate of 5.14. Since he is a left-arm seam bowler, Arshdeep Singh’s groyne injury during the England ODIs seems understandable.

However, the youthful paceman has also been named to the team for the T20I series against the West Indies, and if everything works well, he might get another chance to represent the Men in Blue. On July 29, a 5-match T20I series between India and West Indies is scheduled to begin. Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper, and Rohit Sharma, the captain of Team India, are also expected to join the group for the T20I series.
