Sanju Samson, a wicketkeeper-batsman, may not have been included in the Indian T20I squad, but when the team landed in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday for the series opener, the other players were unable to ignore him. When they couldn’t locate the Kerala cricketer in the squads for the T20 World Cup and series against Australia and the Proteas, some cricket fans vented their displeasure on social media. At Trivandrum airport, however, when the team arrived here on Monday morning, the scene was completely different.

As the Men in Blue arrived, a large crowd gathered to cheer them on. In order to see their stars, they crowded around the team bus. In the meantime, Suryakumar Yadav, who had selected a window seat, was spotted flashing the Sanju photo on his phone and directing it to the onlookers.

Rajasthan Royals, the IPL team led by Sanju Samson, posted the moment’s footage to Twitter. Not only Suryakumar Yadav, but Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal also named Sanju. Their IPL captain on their Instagram stories while uploading a photo of the Trivandrum crowd.
Sanju’s Performances
Sanju Samson, who does not frequently play for the white-ball team, was in and out of the starting lineup during the overseas trips, but the 27-year-old, who is one of the most popular players in Kerala, is fortunate to have such fervent support wherever he travels.
Fan’s madness
Cries of “Sanju Sanju” were inevitable with the Indian team currently in Thiruvananthapuram. There was a “Sanju Samson fever” as the squad visited the city, Samson’s hometown, despite the fact that Samson wasn’t on the Indian team.

Sanju’s similarities
Samson made his debut against Zimbabwe in a T20I match in 2015, a long time ago. The wicketkeeper-batsman, though, has only participated in 7 ODIs and 16 T20Is thus far.
He has 176 runs at an average of 44.0 in ODIs. He has scored 296 runs at an average of 21.14 in T20Is. Kohli hasn’t allowed him any room to go up to the no. 3 spot, though, because he also bats there most of the time.
