Shreyas Iyer, who belongs to Chembur, Mumbai, was born on 6 December 1994. He is a right-handed middle-order batter. Iyer has managed his position in the Indian squad for some time by giving some decent performances. In year 2014, Shreyas represented Trent Bridge team. On a tour to England, he scored record 297 runs in 3 matches. Later, he made his List A debut in the same year for Mumbai. He managed to score 273 runs with a decent average of over 54.
Shreyas played for the India Under-19 cricket team at the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
In the same season (2014-15), he made his Ranji trophy debut. In season 2015-16, he scored 1321 runs including 4 centuries and 7 half centuries. He became the top run getter for the season and 2nd player to score more than 1300 runs in single season.

In March 2017, Shreyas Iyer was added in Indian test squad against Australia but was not picked up in playing 11.
Shreyas made his debut in Indian Jersey in T20I against New Zealand in 2017, but he did not get a chance to bat.

Shreyas Iyer IPL Career
In 2015, Shreyas was bought by Delhi Daredevils for 2.6 crore. He became the highest earning uncapped player in the league. In his first season, he scored 439 runs in 14 matches with an average of 33.76.
Later, he was retained Delhi in 2018 and was announced as the Captain of the franchise and became the youngest captain in the IPL history for Delhi Daredevils. He replaced Gautam Gambhir in the captaincy for the franchise.
On his captaincy debut, Iyer scored a match winning knock of 93 runs and was awarded MoM. He was retained by Delhi Capitals in the next season and led his team to play offs.
