Sanju Samson: A successful showing at the mega-auction assisted Rajasthan Royals in assembling a solid core group of players, making them one of the most improved teams in the Indian Premier League during the past couple of years. The franchise has set its eyes on winning its second IPL championship after Sanju Samson guided the very strong squad to the final in the 2022 edition.

Jake Lush McCrum, CEO of RR, speaking in an exclusive interview, he talks about the team’s scouting and player development efforts, also mainly about captain Sanju, the young players on the roster, the Sanga effect, and the role of Red Bull.

Jake Lush McCrum comments on Sanju Samson

Rajasthan Royals CEO comments on Sanju Samson: Talking about Sanju Samson he started off by saying “Sanju was always our guy. He’s got a big name, in my opinion. Sanju may have been younger than some people, but as I mentioned, he had a tonne of IPL experience and extensive knowledge of the Rajasthan Royals. He was completely immersed in the franchise and its brand. It’s crucial that he is so devoted to it. Sanju’s willingness to learn and the incredible amount of growth he has experienced over the past two years are two qualities I adore about him. He’s only going to get better and better.”

When discussing his leadership, Jake said “In his second year as captain, he has led us to a final, which is remarkable, and he manages and motivates players in the background. He might not be the most outspoken player on the field, but the work he puts in off-the-field work that few people see is a major factor in our success. Look at what happened in the most recent season; he and Sanga (Kumar Sangakkara) have done a great job of fostering that winning culture.” (Source – News18)

Rajasthan Royals Last Season in IPL

Prior to the 2022 Indian Premier League auction, Rajasthan held their captain Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, and youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal on November 30, 2021, releasing every other player as of that day.

In the span of six days, the team lost twice to Gujarat Titans, first in Qualifier 1 and again in the final, finishing as runners-up after performing well during the league stage and placing second in the points chart. With 864 runs scored in 17 innings, Jos Buttler won the MVP title and the Orange Cap, and Yuzvendra Chahal won the Purple Cap for taking the most wickets during the season.

What’s Going to Happen in 2023 IPL

Rajasthan is a very good team with destructive players and last time they were one step away from becoming the two-time IPL champions but they missed out on that.

This time around Rajasthan will not look to repeat history but rather they will be looking to create history this time around. Let’s wait and see what happens with RR in the 2023 edition of IPL. Until then stay tuned to Stumps and Bails for all the latest updates.
