Kagiso Rabada was born on 25 May 1995 in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. He is a South African right-arm fast bowler. Since his debut in 2014, Kagiso Rabada has emerged as the lead bowler for the South African bowling unit in all three formats of cricket. Within three years of his debut, Rabada picked 150 wickets in tests for the national side and also achieved the top ranking in the ICC bowler rankings. He is wildly considered one of the bowlers in the world in recent times. Rabada started off his T20 Franchise career in 2018 when he was bought by Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League. Recently, Kagiso Rabada was roped in by Punjab Kings in the mega auction of TATA IPL 2022 for a whopping amount of 9.25 crores.

Kagiso Rabada started off playing cricket at the age of 11 years. He did his schooling from St. Stithians Boys College. Rabada also faced some discrimination during his early days because of his color. However, he didn’t let anything come in his way and made his place through the school team. He won many matches for his school team and was also included in club matches.

Kagiso Rabada made his first-class debut at the age of 17 years in Provincial Tournament while playing for Gauteng. He was picked up in the South African

squad for Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2014. During the tournament, Rabada emerged as the second highest wicket taker of the tournament. He picked 14 wickets in the tournament and helped his team in winning the title for the first time in the history. He was also the fastest bowler in the tournament.

After his magnificent performance in Under-19 World Cup, he was included in his domestic team Lions for Sunfoil series. He played last 2 matches of the season and picked 7 wickets.

In a match against Dolphins in 2015, Kagiso Rabada picked 14 wickets. His figure of 14/105 is the best bowling figure in the domestic circuit of South Africa.

In 2016, Rabada went to England to play some County Cricket and to know more about the English conditions. He played 8 matches in England during his contract with Kent Cricket Club.

Kagiso Rabada made his international debut in a T20 match against Australia in November 2014. Rabada picked a single wicket on his debut.

In July 2015, Kagiso Rabada made his ODI debut against Bangladesh. Rabada had a dream debut as he picked 6 wickets on his debut including a hat-trick. He became second player in the world to take a hat-trick on the debut.

In November 2015, Kagiso Rabada made his test debut against India. In 2015-16, Rabada picked his first 10 wickets in a test match against England. He registered the figures of 13/144 in the match which is second best bowling figure for his national side. He registered 5-wicket hauls in both the innings.

During a test match against Sri Lanka in 2017, Rabada picked his second 10 wicket haul in a match.

In 2017, Kagiso Rabada was suspended after some incident on the field with Ben Stokes during a match.

In the same year, Kagiso Rabada was ranked at number 1 in the ICC ODI rankings. He became the youngest player to achieve the feat.

In 2018 after the test series against India, Kagiso Rabada jumped to the top spot in the ICC Test rankings. In a match against Australia in 2018, Kagiso Rabada picked his third 10 wicket haul in a match. In the same year, he picked 150 wickets in tests.

Kagiso Rabada took 52 wickets in 2018 which is the highest by any bowler in the year.

In 2019, KG was included in the squad for ICC Cricket World Cup.

In 2021, Kagiso Rabada was included in South African team for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. He also picked a hat-trick in the tournament against England.

Kagiso Rabada was first bought by Delhi Daredevils in 2017. He played 6 matches in the season and picked 6 wickets.

In 2018, Kagiso Rabada was retained by Delhi Franchise for 4.20 crores. However, he was ruled out before the season due to an injury.

Rabada made a remarkable comeback in IPL season 2019 and picked 25 wickets in just 12 matches and ended up as the leading wicket taker for his side.

In IPL 2020, Kagiso Rabada picked 30 wickets in 17 matches, most by any bowler in the season and helped Delhi Capitals in reaching the finals of the season.

Rabada had an average next season and picked 15 wickets in 15 matches in IPL 2021. He was released by Delhi Capitals after the season. Kagiso Rabada was roped in by Punjab Kings in the mega auction of TATA IPL 2022 for a whopping amount of 9.25 crores.
