India ready to start mission 2024 under Hardik Pandya

Team India Mission 2024

Team India Mission 2024: Team India has had a quick respite before their busy 2023. While they defeated Bangladesh in the second Test by a score of three wickets, India lost another elimination T20 World Cup last year. In light of their defeat, several possible scenarios have been put forward for how the Indian team might go and what actions might be made in that direction.

With India ready to start their new year with just 2 series experience, but successful captain, it is likely everyone hoping India’s T20 future and a title under his leadership.

Hardik Pandya will probably lead the team at the upcoming T20 World Cup, despite their being no formal confirmation as of yet.

Hardik Pandya set to start full-time T20I captain of India

The three-match series against Sri Lanka starting on Tuesday, and Hardik Pandya is all set to start off his full-time T20 captaincy tenure on a daring note as the Indian T20 team gears up to begin their journey without Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul.

When Hardik guided the squad to victory in the rain-delayed T20 series in New Zealand, Indian cricket fans got more than just a glimpse of his plans for the team.

The Indian team does not prioritise the shortest format in an ODI World Cup year, but the series will enable Hardik to begin thinking about the future, notably the T20 World Cup in 2024. The team must be ready to function without India’s renowned top three, Rohit, Rahul, and Kohli, who are not on the roster, regardless of their T20 future.

India failed to win T20 World Cup 2022 under Rohit Sharma

Even though reaching the T20 World Cup 2022 semifinals is an improvement over their group-stage exit last time, India’s loss to England in Adelaide raised concerns about the nation’s cautious batting strategy by the top three batsmen as well as the effectiveness of their bowling attack on favourable batting pitches.

Also under question is Captain Rohit Sharma‘s future. Sharma had poor attacking and defensive performances throughout the competition (with an average of 19 and a strike rate of 106) and he received criticism for a number of his bowling change decisions.

Rohit was named Test captain when Kohli resigned, but he has only led the squad for two home Test matches because to his physical difficulties. Rohit was ineligible to participate in the one Test against England due to a positive COVID-19 test. He is out of the Bangladesh test series after suffering a thumb injury in the second One-Day International against Bangladesh.

Hardik Pandya has never captained in List-A. In five T20 International matches, he has guided Team India to 4 victory.

The first match of the series against Sri Lanka under Hardik Pandya will take place on January 3 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
