The big T-20 series is lined-up for team India just after the Indian Premier League 2022 and the captain of the Indian side is looking to start their T-20 World Cup on a good note.
Team Indian will play against mighty South Africa for the 5 match T-20 series, starting from June 09, 2022.
Considering the big series, India’s all-format captain Rohit Sharma is planning to be a part of the team selection process to be able to build a strong team in front of a strong competitor. He will attend the meeting on May 23, while the team for South Africa series will be announced on May 26.
According to a report by InsideSport, one of the selection committee members told them, “We will meet Rohit in Mumbai for the team selection before the playoffs, most likely on 23rd. We are yet to decide on the date. The team should be announced by 26th.”
Rohit Sharma, who was earlier supposed to take a break from the South Africa series after a hectic schedule, is not in the mood of taking a break instead he is eyeing to create a record of winning thirteen T-20 games in a row.
The news of Rohit’s not taking a break is also provided by a member of the selection committee during their talk with InsideSport “No, Rohit is not taking any break during the South Africa series. He will be available. We will have a selection meeting during the playoffs. The squad will assemble at the NCA five days before the series for a fitness test.”
The South Africa series will start from June 09, 2022.
