INDIA vs NEW ZEALAND 2nd ODI Match Highlights

Ind vs NZ 2nd ODI Match Highlights: It was a pretty much comfortable job for the Indian batsman as they chased down the target without any trouble. It was obvious after the first innings that this was just a matter of time before India win the match.

India beat New Zealand by 8 wickets and win the 2nd ODI of the three-match ODI series. As India won the first ODI and now with the second victory, India take a 2-0 lead. This means India has technically won the series with one game remaining.

IND vs NZ 2nd ODI: Early on in the Innings

India elected to bowl first after winning the toss, and Mohammed Shami began bowling right away, taking out Fine Allen in the opening over. While wickets were falling, Indian bowlers made sure the Kiwis did not get off to a good start. New Zealand was held to 108 runs in 34.3 overs by India.

IND vs NZ: Stand out Bowling performance from the Indian side

The Indian fielders, particularly the pacers, have excelled at catching because they were relentless and made the foreign players take some unimpressive shots. Mohammed Shami, who is in excellent form today against the Kiwis, started it all off by ejecting Finn Allen. Shami grabbed 3 wickets in 6 overs while only allowing 18 runs to be scored.

Both Washington Sundar (2/7) and Hardik Pandya (2/16) secured two wickets each. However, Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Siraj each claimed one wicket to prevent New Zealand from scoring a lot of runs.

IND vs NZ 2nd ODI: Alone Survivor of Kiwis, but not for long

India did bowl reasonably effectively, and it’s safe to say that the bowling display utterly astounded and confused the Kiwis. The Kiwis’ star batter, however, was Glenn Phillips, who did his best to carry the inning. Before being caught by Washington Sundar, Glenn made a valiant 36 runs off of 52 balls. New Zealand was able to set a target of 109 runs thanks to this, though.

IND vs NZ 2nd ODI: Indian Openers as usual giving the perfect start for India

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill started off the Indian innings well as they both stitched together a partnership of 72 inside 14 overs. However, skipper Rohit Sharma departed after scoring a Half-century (51 off 50 balls).

But Gill was stable and played a mature inning as he made sure that India crossed the line comfortably. Gill scored an unbeaten 40* off 53 balls.

Virat Kohli was also dismissed for (11 from 9 balls) as he couldn’t stay until the end. But Ishan Kishan(8 from 9 balls) and Gill made sure that India won the match.

IND vs NZ 2nd ODI: What’s Next?

India after winning the first two matches has technically won the series. But they will be against New Zealand for the one last time in the third and final ODI at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore on 24 January (Tuesday) at 1:30 PM.
