Heinrich Klaasen was born in Pretoria, Transvaal Province, South Africa on 30 July 1991. Heinrich Klaasen is a right-hand South African wicket-keeper batter who has been a part of the South African limited-overs squad for the past couple of years. However, he has been constantly in and out of the team due to high competition for the middle-order slots. Heinrich Klaasen can also be an effective off-spin option for any captain as he can restrict batters from scoring big runs during the middle overs. Heinrich Klaasen has also kept gloves for South Africa in the past in a few matches. Heinrich Klaasen was the part of Indian Premier League in 2019 when he was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for the season.

Heinrich Klaasen started off playing cricket at the age of 5 years and his family helped him a lot in making him pursue cricket as his career. Heinrich Klaasen attended Die Hoerskool Menlopark in Pretoria and played many matches for his school team. He was a wicket keeper back then and scored many runs and also helped his team with the wicketkeeping skills. Heinrich Klaasen Domestic Career

Heinrich Klaasen started off his domestic career back in year 2011 when he was picked up to play for the Northers in the domestic circuit. Heinrich Klaasen made his T20 Debut in a match against North west in the same year at Potchefstroom in South Africa. Heinrich Klaasen became a constant member of the Northerns squad within 2 years and scored second-highest runs in the league in 2013-14.

Heinrich Klaasen emerged as the highest run scorer of the domestic season of South Africa in 2016-17 season and also kept gloves for his team and was involved in 39 dismissals including catches and stumpings.

Heinrich Klaasen was then named in the squad of Nelson Mandela Bay Stars for the inaugural season of T20 League which was later cancelled by the South Africa Cricket board.

Heinrich Klaasen then joined Titans in the 2018-19 season and was then signed by Durban Heat in the inaugural season of Mzansi Super League tournament in South Africa.

In 2019, Heinrich Klaasen got selected in the squad of Toronto to play in the Global T20 Canada tournament. He did well in the tournament and scored many runs.

Heinrich Klaasen was also picked up in the team of Tshwane Spartans for Mzansi Super League in 2019.

Heinrich Klaasen was picked up by Northerns for the domestic season of South Africa in 2021-22.

Heinrich Klaasen International Career

Heinrich Klaasen was first picked up in the squad of South Africa for the Test series against New Zealand back in February 2017. However, he didn’t get a chance to play in the match and just warmed the bench for the whole series.

Heinrich Klaasen made his International Debut in a match against India in the ODI series on 7th February 2018 and scored 32 runs in the first match including 5 fours in the innings.

In the second match of the innings, Heinrich Klaasen played a match winning innings for his team and was awarded with Player of the match award. He also smashed 43 runs in just 27 balls in the last match of the series and helped his team in winning the series against India.

Heinrich Klaasen was then picked up in the subsequent T20I series against India and made his debut on 18th February 2018.

Heinrich Klaasen scored his maiden T20I half century in the second match of his career and in the series and helped his team in winning the match. He smashed 69 runs including 7 sixes and 3 fours in the innings.

Heinrich Klaasen was also picked up for the Test series against Australia in 2018 but didn’t get a chance to appear in playing-11.

Heinrich Klaasen made his Test debut in a match against India on 19th October 2019. Klaasen just played a single Test in his career as of now.

In 2020, Heinrich Klaasen smashed his maiden ODI century in a match against Australia.

Heinrich Klaasen was appointed as the captain of the South African team for the T20I away series against Pakistan and then in the home series against the home team.

Heinrich Klaasen was then picked up in the T20I squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2021. However, he didn’t make many runs in the tournament.

Recently, Heinrich Klaasen was selected for the tour of India for the 5 match T20I bilateral series.
