Spin wizard Rashid Khan turns 24 today

Happy Birthday Rashid Khan

On Tuesday, September 20th, Rashid Khan, perhaps the best leg-spinner in the game, turns 24. Birthday greetings are coming in from all around. The cricket player from Afghanistan has over the years developed into a world celebrity. With the ball in hand, there isn’t much Rashid can’t do, whether it’s limiting the scoring rate or frequently getting wickets. As the magical bowler turns a year older.

Rashid Khan was born in the eastern Afghan province of Nangarhar in 1998. He is one of ten siblings and is from Jalalabad. His family had escaped the Afghan war when he was still a child, and they spent “a few years” living in Pakistan. Rashid continued his education after they eventually left and returned to Afghanistan, where they resumed their regular lives. Rashid developed an admiration for Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi while growing up and styled his bowling motion after him.

In the 2017 season, Rashid Khan played in his first game in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Afghan leg-spinner quickly cemented his dominance in IPL, and it didn’t take long. For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rashid took two wickets in his first game. He has played 92 IPL matches and claimed 112 wickets at an economy of 6.38. Rashid amassed 19 wickets in this year’s IPL to help Gujarat Titans win their first championship.

Top five achievements in the Indian Premier League:

4/24 vs Lucknow Super Giants in 2022
3/7 vs Delhi Capitals in 2022
3/12 vs Kings XI Punjab in 2022
3/19 vs Kolkata Knight Riders in 2022
3/19 vs Gujarat Lions in 2017

Rashid Khan has played 83 ODI matches for Afghanistan and has picked up 1587 wickets, in T20 formats he has played 71 games and picked up 118 wickets. He is the first person to pick 100 ODI wickets in 44 matches, he is also the youngest Captain in ODI history (19y 165d)

Rashid Khan had high expectations for the 2019 Cricket World Cup, which were reflected in Afghanistan’s average performance. However, the Afghan star disappointed his fans, as evidenced by Afghanistan’s average performance. However, the selectors saw Rashid’s potential and shortly after the huge event, the 20-year-old leg-spinner was given captaincy across all formats of the game. Later on, though, Asghar Afghan was re-appointed captain, possibly to allow Rashid to focus on his bowling.

On this important day, let’s wish Rashid Khan a happy birthday, pray for his well-being, and send him our best wishes for the future.
