Sri Lanka vs UAE – 79 runs
Sri Lanka’s second and the most crucial match of the qualifiers round, as they already faced defat in their first game, and a loss here would end their chances to qualify for the Super 12 phase.
Despite their batters struggled on that day two, except Pathum Nissanka, who played a knock of 74, they put 152 on board in their 20-over quota. And later bowled out the UAE side for 73 to register a comprehensive win by 79 runs.
New Zealand vs Australia – 89 runs
The biggest shocking of the tournament happened on the first day of the Super 12 phase itself. During the opening match of the Super 12 round between 2021 champions Australia and the runners-up New Zealand, the Kiwis stunned the hosts by defeating them with a huge margin of 89 runs.
After putting 200 in 20 overs, New Zealand bowlers did everything right and hold off the Aussies by bowled them out for 111. Later, the Kiwis qualified for the semis as a table-topper of Group 1. While Australia was knocked out from the tournament in the league stage itself.
South Africa vs Bangladesh – 104 runs
The day was special for Rilee Rossouw, who scored his second ton in T20 cricket, but it was equally special for his side too as the Proteas registered a dominating 104-run victory over Bangladesh.
