West Indies got off to a decent start early in the day when Alzarri Joseph dismissed David Warner cheaply on what seems like a great batting surface. The visitors suffered another injury blow as Marquino Mindley hobbled off injured on his debut. A 95-run partnership between Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne made a good base for Australian side. But the Khawaja was dismissed by Devon Thomas after he got to his half-century.

Jason Holder dismissed the Australian skipper Steven Smith on a duck but after that, it has been all about Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head. Australia will look to continue and bat most of the day to take the possibility of a loss out of the equation. West Indies need early wickets and with the ball pretty new, it will be interesting to see if the fast bowlers get some purchase.

Marnus Labuschagne continued to score at a steady pace and got to his third century in a row remaining unbeaten on 120. Travis Head played the role of an aggressor and accumulated runs at a quicker pace scoring 114 in 139 balls.
