Aus vs Eng Women’s Cricket Match Highlights

England Women have won the toss and opted to field first in the 3rd game of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 – Australia had a tough task in front because they had to put a huge score on the board in order to win this match.

Openers R Haynes and Healy (wk) have given a decent start to the Australian batting innings but soon Healy had to fall prey for Sciver and walked to the dugout by scoring just 28 runs.

From there on both R Haynes and skipper Lanning had an excellent partnership and boosted their innings up. With their help, Australia had posted a challenging score of 310-3 in 50 overs.

It was going to be a tough challenge for the England side in order to chase such a huge score. They really had a very bad and slow start in the 2nd innings of the game. But both Tammy Beaumont (74) and Natalie Sciver(109) have played excellently.

With their help, England was almost inching close to the Australian score and it was all down to the last over where they needed 16 runs in 6 balls. But with an excellent bowling performance from Jess Jonassen, England could be on the winning side and as a result, they have lost the game by 12 runs in the end.

Rachael Haynes from the Australian side has been handed over the player of the match award for her outstanding 130 runs knock in 131 balls which includes 14 fours and 1 six.

During the post-match presentation, Rachael Haynes said – “ I don’t think I was feeling that great (physically) in the second half of the game on the field. I think it was a great effort from England. We can all learn from their approach. Once I got a couple away, things started to flow and it felt nice to get a 300-plus score. Initially, we were thinking 260-270 but once we got going, we thought to go as big as we can. Getting over 300 was important. Conditions got better as the game went on, was sliding on nicely to the bat.”
