Starc and Agar are set to miss the final ODI against Australia

AUS vs ENG ODI series Player Update

Meredith and Pat Cummins are set to return for the third ODI against Australia

AUS vs ENG ODI series Player Update: Ashton Agar will join the PM’s XI series ahead of Wednesday’s match against the Windies in place of Mitchell Starc. Who will be rested ahead of the Test summer in favor of speedster Riley Meredith.

The star left-fast bowler will miss the game in order to focus on getting ready for the upcoming NRMA Insurance Test series against the West Indies, which will begin next week. On Saturday, the star left-armer claimed four wickets in a player-of-the-match performance during the 72-run victory in Sydney.

Ashton Agar, an all-rounder, will also miss the final ODI since he will be playing for the Prime Minister’s XI against the Windies on tour, which begins on Wednesday.

Riley Meredith New Replacement

At today’s optional session at a chilly and soggy MCG. Meredith who has played one ODI and five T20Is was the only paceman. In eight Marsh Cup and Sheffield Shield matches this summer. He has had a strong start to the season in domestic cricket and is still very much a part of Australia’s long-term white-ball plans. He has taken two five-wicket hauls and one four-wicket haul.

Pat Cummins Set To Return

After missing the second ODI game over the weekend, the newly installed skipper Pat Cummins will probably make a comeback in Melbourne. Agar’s exit, however, might give Meredith a chance.

The 26-year-old is off to a strong start in the 2022–23 season. Picking up two five-wicket hauls in domestic games as he seeks to build on his lone one–day victory in the Caribbean last year.

Sean Abbott availability

Despite Glenn Maxwell being pulled out of the series. Australia does already have Sean Abbott in the lineup for Melbourne. After Joel Paris, a left-arm swing bowler from Western Australia was flown to Canberra to join the PM’s XI squad as Abbott’s replacement. He appears likely to play in Tuesday’s dead rubber.

While Cameron Green was flown home to relax before the Tests. Josh Inglis, who will captain the PM’s XI on Wednesday, joined the ODI team in Sydney. Josh Inglis is still in Melbourne, but he spent the majority of his net session indoors facing pink balls.
