Chances of him to play the Bangladesh series, which starts on September 19, is next to none at the moment, and if he plays Ranji Trophy, then he will miss a match or the whole India vs New Zealand series.

Looking at his ability and fitness, the management must be thinking of much bigger picture and must be planning to include him in India’s squad for the Australia tour, starting November 22.

Mohammed Shami was almost unplayable on most occasions by any batter during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, and he ended the tournament as the highest wicket-taker with 24 scalps in only 7 innings.

He missed all the cricketing action since World Cup, including the England series, IPL, and the T20 World Cup 2024, but as he is on a road to recovery, his actual comeback date is subject to fitness, but he will be seen in India’s jersey in less than 2 months.

Having Shami in India’s squad for the Australia tour will definitely be a big boost for the Asian Giants.
