Trent Alexander Boult, popularly known as Trent Boult, is a New Zealand left-arm fast bowler. Trent Boult was born in Rotorua, New Zealand, on 22nd July 1989. Trent Boult has been the backbone of the New Zealand Cricket team for many years in all three formats of cricket. Boult has the ability to dip his pace and swing the ball both ways that making him deadlier in the start as well as slog overs. Boult is the first New Zealand bowler to pick a hat trick in a World Cup match. In TATA IPL 2022, Trent Boult was bought by Rajasthan Royals in the mega auction for a whopping amount of 8 crores.

Trent Boult started playing cricket at an early age of 7 years. Boult attended Otumoetai College in his early days and played a lot of matches for the college team. Boult showed his skills at an early age. By the age of 17 years, Boult became the fastest school cricket of New Zealand. He bowled the fastest delivery by any Secondary School Boy in the country. However, due to some change in his bowling action, Trent Boult got injured that kept him out of field for almost 2 years.

Trent Boult made his first class debut for New Zealand A in 2007 against India Under-19 team. In his first outing, Trent Boult picked 2 wickets in the match.
Later, he was selected in the Under-19 World Cup in 2008. World Cup didn’t go down well for him and he only managed to pick 5 wickets in the tournament.
During his complete domestic career, Trent Boult has played 110 first class matches and taken 417 wickets with 17 five-wicket hauls in his name and the best bowling figures of 6/30.

Trent Boult made his International debut in a Test against Australia in 2011. Trent Boult picked 4 wickets in the match and also scored 21 runs batting at number 10.
In 2012, Trent Boult started leaving an impact of his bowling against all the batting line ups. In a five tests series against England in 2013, Trent Boult picked 19 wickets.
Boult returned to the side for the test series against West Indies at home and registered his career best bowling figures of 10/80 in a match.

In a Test match against England in Auckland in 2018, Trent Boult registered his best bowling figures in an innings by picking 6 wickets for just 34 runs. Boult picked 15 wickets in the two test match series and was named as Player of the series.
In 2019, Trent Boult was selected in the ICC Cricket World Cup team of New Zealand. During a World Cup match against Australia, Trent Boult picked up a hat-trick and became first New Zealand bowler to achieve the record. Boult picked 17 wickets in the tournament and again helped his team in reaching to the finals of the World Cup.
Trent Boult was then picked up in the squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2021 where he bagged 13 wickets. New Zealand reached to the finals of an ICC tournament consecutively for the third time but failed to win the title.

Trent Boult was roped in by Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL season 2015. He played 7 matches in the season and picked 9 wickets.
In season 2017, Boult was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders but didn’t performed well in the season.
