#5 Avesh Khan

Avesh Khan was part of India’s U-19 team in 2016. He has come up the ranks pretty quickly. Khan’s real talent came through in IPL 2021. He rushed through the batsmen with pace. Washington Sundar is probably one of the most underrated young talents in the game. Sundar stole the show in his debut Test at the Gabba, Brisbane in Australia. His crucial knocks in both innings helped India win a historic series. Sundar continued his good form against England too. He scored an unbeaten 96 to knock England out of the game in the 4th Test. Sundar can be an ideal number 5 in the test setup. His bowling skill is an added impetus. The fact that Sundar is still just 21 speaks volumes about his temperament.

#3 Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw is a protege. He was always on the radar of national selection. Shaw created ripples with his very first Test series against West Indies. He smashed 134 on debut. Shaw fell off from national favor owing to poor form and temperament. But Shaw made a roaring back in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2021. He smashed 827 runs in 8 games leading Mumbai to a fine championship win. Shaw continued his good form in IPL 2021 scoring 308 runs in 8 games. He scored 6 boundaries of 6 balls in the opening over against KKR. Shaw is a fine talent who will surely set the international stage on fire. His strike rate of 86 in Tests, 102 in ODI’s, and 146 in IPL clearly suggests Shaw is a special player.

#2 Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill was awarded the “Man of the Series” in the U-19 World Cup in 2018. He played a crucial role in India winning the U-19 World Cup. Gill smashed 372 runs at an average of 124 and a strike rate of 112. He averages an astonishing 60.18 in List A Test cricket with a top score of 268. Gill’s class was on display in Australia when he comfortably negated a quality Aussie attack. His 91 in the final innings of the 4th Test help India notch a fine victory. Gill is all set to dominate world cricket for the next 10 years.

#1 Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant set the stage on fire in the U-19 World Cup in 2016. He smashed the fastest fifty by a U-19 Indian batsman in the World Cup. Delhi bought Pant in IPL 2016 and since then there has been no looking back for him. Pant averages 35 and strikes at 149 in the world’s best league. He has taken over the mantle of the best wicketkeeper-batsman in the Indian team too. Pant led DC with aplomb in IPL 2021. There is no stopping Pant and he is all set for greatness in the coming few years.
