Nathan Michael Lyon, famously known as Nathan Lyon was born in Young, New South Wales on 20 November 1987. Nathan Lyon is an Australian right-arm off-break bowler who has been a crucial member of the Australian bowling unit in the Tests. Lyon has been a part of the Australia team for almost a decade and has played over 100 Tests. Nathan Lyon is considered the most successful off-spinner for Australia in the history of cricket as he has the most wickets as an off-spinner. He is also an effective lower-order batter.

Nathan Lyon started playing cricket at the early age of 7 years. He played many age-level matches for his school and helped them in winning with his magical spin bowling. Lyon has been a hard-working bowler right from the beginning of his career. In his early years, Lyon shifted to Canberra from Young and played for his school. He also played for ACT’s Cricket in Under-17 and Under-19. He played for the University of Canberra in ACT cricket and made his debut in 2008. In 2010, Nathan Lyon worked as a member of ground staff in the Adelaide Oval.

Nathan Lyon gave some magnificent performances in he Futures T20 leagues in South Australia and was picked up by Redbacks to play in the Big Bash League.

In KFC T20 Big Bash 2010-11 season, Nathan Lyon emerged as the highest wicket taker of the tournament and helped his team in winning the tournament. It turned fortunes for Nathan Lyon as he was picked in the Sheffield Shield tournament.

In 2010, Nathan Lyon was picked up in the squad of Australia A to play against Zimbabwe. Lyon took 11 wickets in the series and was awarded with Player of the series award.

In 2011, Nathan Lyon was roped in by Adelaide Stars to play in the Big Bash League.

Nathan Lyon was also the part of English County season in 2017 as he played for Worcestershire.
