IPL 2024 Week 2 Recap: The Indian Premier League has completed its 2 weeks this season and once again managed to keep the viewers on the edge of their seats with a thriller each day.  

With some teams enjoying the IPL carnival, some are still finding it hard to prepare a best 11.  In this article, we will look at the some of the best moments from week 2 of TATA IPL 2024.

The Hyderabad fun show  

The match number 8th of IPL 2024 was a real deal for the fans seeking entertainment. Invited to bat first, Hyderabad started their innings on a solid note and collected 45 in the first 4 overs without losing any wicket. The real show was yet to come.  

Abhishek Sharma, who came in at number 3 added 68 in 22 balls for the second wicket alongside Travis Head.  

Head played a knock of 62 off 24, while Abhishek Sharma left the crease after scoring 63 off 23.  

Heinrich Klaasen and Aiden Markram then did the remaining work and guided Hyderabad to post the biggest ever total in IPL history with 277.  

Klaasen, who struck a 29-ball 63 in the first game, scored an unbeaten 80 off 34 against MI. 

The thrilling game saw Mumbai also played at their destructive best but that wasn’t enough as they lost the game by 31 runs. 523 runs were scored in that match, the highest score in a match in IPL history.

The very next day, fans enjoyed unreal scenes from a young Indian fast bowler at Lucknow. Punjab Kings, who were chasing 200 against Lucknow on Thursday, cruised past the 100-run mark in 11th over without losing a single wicket.  

With things were looking in Punjab’s control, the 21-year-old Mayank Yadav came out of syllabus for each batter and made the chase tough for the tourists with his surreal pace.  

He clocked as fast as 155.8 km/hr, the highest ball of this season till date. Yadav grabbed 3 big wickets which ultimately guided LSG to win the game and secure their first win of the season.
