How Kieron Pollard smashed five straight sixes against Rashid Khan
West Indies legend Kieron Pollard has left all stunned with his batting prowess once again when he smashed five straight sixes against Afghanistan’s great Rashid Khan.
Batters usually find it difficult to face the spin magician of modern-day cricket, Rashid Khan, but Pollard sixes made it look easy.
Playing for Southern Brave in The Hundred Men’s competition 2024 at Southampton, Kieron Pollard came into bat when his side was at 63 for 4 in a 127-run chase game, and the mighty man changed the course of the match with his breathtaking knock.

He strucked five consecutive sixes and started with a maximum over deep mid-wicket on a somewhat short one, Rashid bowled a much fuller second delivery and Pollard sent it again in stands this time over long off.
After two sixes in a row, Khan did not change his plan and a fuller again, and the West Indies muscled it over long off again to complete the hat-trick of sixes.
Pollard picked the fourth ball so early and comfortably hit it over deep mid-wicket to make it four in a row, followed by another maximum over long-off again to complete five consecutive sixes in the set of five balls.

This is not the first time when Pollard hit consecutive sixes in an over. He earlier hit 6 sixes in an over during a T20I contest in 2021 while facing Akila Dananjaya of Sri Lanka.
Pollard, however, also highlighted that Rashid has got him out many times before but today he secured the victory.
“I’ve played against Rash a lot and he’s got me out a lot of times so I had to see what was happening but I knew the sort of line and length he was going to bowl. Rash is a world-class bowler but this was just one of the days where I took victory,” said Pollard after the game.
Southern Brave retained their second spot on the points table with a two-wicket win, while Trent Rockets are in fifth place.
