Challenges India may face in Super 8s of T20 World Cup 2024
Challenges India may face in Super 8s: India is once again flying high during the initial phase of the yet another ICC event and already booked a spot in the Super 8s competition of the T20 World Cup.
But the round is ready to welcome the Indian side with plenty of challenges, mainly because Indian has not played any game in West Indies, as they have played all of their games so far in co-hosted nation USA.
Unlike the other seven teams in the Super 8s, India is the only team without any experience of current West Indian conditions. With India seeking their first ICC trophy since 2013, it is important to see what kind challenges team India may face during the Super 8 contest of the marquee event.

The West Indies hurdle
All of the teams have already adjusted themselves with the conditions in West Indies and have grasped the knowledge of pitches at different venues, unlike India, who played all of their group stage games in USA.
On top of that, when India last played a T20 World Cup in West Indies in 2010, the men in blue faced a Super 8 exit.
Team Combination
India is playing with a combination of 3 specialist pacers and 2 batting all-rounders, who are left-arm spinners. But the conditions in West Indies prefer a wrist spinner in the team, and the team will look to add Kuldeep Yadav or Yuzvendra Chahal in the playing 11.
Slow pitch challenge
Due to the slow surface nature at some of the pitches in West Indies Yashasvi Jaiswal will get a chance to open the innings alongside skipper Rohit Sharma during the Super 8s stage.
Virat may get back to his usual number 3 position, as Kohli’s expertise to anchor the innings with the ability to finish the game, will be needed by the Indian team on the slow pitch challenge in Carribean leg of the tournament.
