Why Indian players not part of BBL?
With the introduction of the Indian Premier League in 2008, the landscape of franchise cricket underwent a permanent transformation (IPL). Since then, many other nations have imitated this move and started their own T20 leagues. The inaugural season of the Big Bash League (BBL) took place in 2011–12 season. After that, it started to grow, even without the Indian players. Let us look at Why Indian players not part of BBL?

Why Indian players are not part of the BBL?
The BCCI regulations are clear-cut in this regard: Male cricket players who choose to play in other leagues must sever all relations with the BCCI and withdraw from all levels of Indian cricket.
BBL, one of the best T20 leagues in the world and already hosted 11 successful editions, still not be able to feature any Indian player in the league, as no agreement has been reached to bring Indian players to the BBL.
Reasons behind Indian players not part of BBL?
All Indian players, whether contracted or uncontracted, are prohibited from playing in franchise cricket (T20 leagues) outside of India or the Indian Premier League per BCCI regulations. Players have frequently been forced to withdraw from or be banned after joining up for foreign leagues.
Pravin Tambe, who was selected to play for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2020, was disqualified from the competition due to his involvement in the Abu Dhabi T10.
In order to keep his deal with Chennai Super Kings, Harbhajan Singh had to remove his name from consideration for The Hundred.
Yuvraj Singh, was only given a NOC to participate in the Global T20 Canada 2019 after declaring his retirement from all forms of the game. The BCCI refused to give him permission to return and represent Punjab in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2021.
Irfan Pathan, Munaf Patel, and Sandeep Tyagi were similarly permitted to participate in the Lanka Premier League 2020 after retiring from all Indian cricket-related formats.
The most recent was Suresh Raina’s participation in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. The Southpaw, who already announced his retirement from all formats of cricket under BCCI. Which was officially allowed to play in franchise cricket. Thus he took the decision to play in the Abu Dhabi T10 league, in which he played for Deccan Gladiators. Who went to become the champions of this year’s T10 competition.
Why BCCI allowed India Women cricket players to play in outside India franchise cricket and not men’s?
The case is not the same for women cricketers, as they have all the permission from board to take part in any of the franchise cricket around the world.
There may be two big reasons behind it.
First is, unlike the men’s IPL, the WIPL (Women’s Indian Premier League) is not yet stabilized yet.
While, the other reason is the lack of international fixtures for women cricketers.
Indian women players in WBBL?
The current Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, top-order batter Jemimah Rodrigues among the top Indian women cricketers. Who already attended the Women’s Big Bash League, and did wonders there too.
While the young talent Shafali Verma, Richa Ghosh, Radha Yadav, and the veteran Poonam Yadav also played for franchise cricket, and leaved their mark too.
