STA Vs HUR Highlights: Joe Clarke’s unbeaten century helped the Melbourne Stars side to register their first victory in the Big Bash League 2022-23 on Friday.
Batting first, Clarke, who opened the innings for Melbourne alongside Thomas Rogers, starred with the bat for team Melbourne Stars, as he smashed a 101 and guided his side to 183 in 20 overs, and later their bowlers got the job done by restricting the Hobart Hurricanes team for 145 to claim a victory by 38 runs.
Luke Wood and the skipper of team Melbourne, Adam Zampa, bagged 3-3 wickets each in the process.

Invited to bat first, Melbourne Stars’ openers provided their team a convincing start, as they managed to guide the cross 50-run mark before the 6 overs.
Both openers were playing flawlessly but then Thomas Rogers again tried to clear the log-on but this time got caught at the deep and gone for 20 off 13.
The aggressor, Joe Clarke, however, remained their at crease and continued his dominant run alongside Beau Webster, who provided him support by playing anchor role.

Both recorded highest runs for the team in this match with Cartwright’s contribution scored just 17 in it and later caught and ball by Riley Meredith.
Clarke, who started the innings for Stars, also provided the finishing touch to the side, and completed his century in the process too.
He remained not out for 101 off 66 balls and helped his side post 183 on board in 20 overs.
STA Vs HUR Highlights: Hobart need 184 to win in 20 overs
Hobart Hurricanes, playing their first match in the competition, made a steady start while chasing a 184-run target, with 25 on board in first 3 overs.
Things were looking in control of Hurricanes’ before Luke Wood removed Ben McDermott in the fourth and Adam Zampa dismissed D’Arcy Short in the sixth over.
The skipper of Hobart then tried to steady his side’s ship and went on to score some crucial runs, he lost support of Shadab Khan during the 10th over, but he continued his modest run in the chase.
With 109 more required in last 10 overs, and Wade and Tim David at the middle, both decided to hand their side a victory in their first game, but Coulter-Nile once again demolished team Hobart’s wish by removing skipper Matthew Wade for 35.
Wicket of Asif Ali in the following over further dented Hobart’s chances. James Neesham and Tim David did try to by hitting 3 fours to dangerous Trent Boult in the seventeenth over, but as the run-rate kept on increasing, both lost their wickets while accelerating, as a result they only managed to put 145 runs on board and lost first match of Big Bash League 2022-23 by 38 runs.
