What went right or wrong?

It was a brief but fun game. Australia understood they needed to score at least 100 runs in this game since India’s batsmen are the strongest in the world. Despite two brilliant overs from Zampa, Axar was outstanding in limiting the Aussies. Captain Sharma led the way with the bat.

Analysis

India checked the boxes of Rohit, Axar, Bumrah‘s return, and DK’s finish. Whereas Australia will be pleased with Wade’s finishes. It was fascinating to see Rohit back Harshal for an extra over when he could have easily thrown it to Hardik or even Chahal. That’s the kind of support you need as a player, and seeing it may elevate your spirits.

The alarming element for India is that Harshal bowled 7-8 slower balls in the final over of both T20Is. Wade struck six sixes despite being informed repeatedly that picking his slower ball is tricky. Is it a little adjustment in the release since Harshal’s comeback from injury, or is it anything mental? Harshal and the team will know better. In Hyderabad, there is a lot of optimism for a humdinger.

The team will meet again for the final T20I on 23rd in Hyderbad. The fans have made sure with ticket loot that they are ready for the game.
