PAK vs IND Who Will Win?
Pakistan will take on India in arguably the match of the tournament on September 2. The number-one ODI ranked side will face off against the number-three ranked team in the world. It was 4 years ago that both these teams played ODI cricket against each other. India had got the better of Pakistan in the 2019 ODI World Cup. They in fact defeated Pakistan twice in the 2018 edition of the Asia Cup in this format. The last time Pakistan tasted success against India in ODIs was the CT 2017 final.
It is a different Pakistan side this time around. They wear the look of a champion side. Pakistan showed their prowess in T20 cricket last year reaching the finals of the World Cup. #1 Iftikhar Ahmed
He showed what he is capable of when the two sides met in the T20 World Cup last year. Iftikhar Ahmed will play a key role in holding Pakistan’s middle order together. He is someone who can change the gears quite quickly. Ahmed is a top player of spin and can take down any spinner worth their salt. His innings against Nepal was a clear indication of the mindset that he is in. He smashed 109 off 71 balls at a strike rate of 153.52. India will be keen to dislodge him early else he might hurt them big time.

If it is a game against Pakistan, one name from the Indian side always stands up. Virat Kohli has been a lone warrior in recent few games against Pakistan starting the 2021 T20 World Cup. He always finds that extra zeal when it comes to Pakistan. Kohli became the uncrowned ODI king after smashing 183 against Pakistan in 2012 in an Asia Cup game. The Pakistani seamer surely has some unfinished business against India. Haris Rauf almost won the game for his country in the T20 World Cup last year until his last two balls went for six. He has been nothing short of sensational in the last 12-18 months. Rauf’s ability to maintain disciplined line and lengths at fearsome pace makes him a difficult prospect. He will look to use the long boundaries to good effect with short lengths. Rauf will examine Indian batters to the hilt.

The one bowler that Pakistani batters have not played recently is Kuldeep Yadav. His delivery to dismiss Babar Azam in the 2019 ODI World Cup was sheer magic. Kuldeep is a vastly improved bowler in the past year or so. Pakistani batters who have attacked Indian spinners with freedom in the last few games might not have it easy against Kuldeep’s guile. His left-arm chinaman brings in a different variety that will keep the batters honest.
