India showcased their intent once again that they are in Dubai to win the Asia Cup 2022 title as the men in blue trounced Hong Kong by 40 runs in their second Group A match at the Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday.
After defeating arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday, and now with a win over Hong Kong, team India became the first team from their group to qualify for the super four stage.
Earlier, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav entertained all with the bat as they helped their side to post the highest total of the tournament so far.

Invited to bat, India took the advantage of batting first against a less experienced side as the men in blue posted a solid 192 on board in 20 overs, courtesy of Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav’s blistering not out fifties.
India made a slow start and lost both their skipper by the time of halfway stage of the innings, with just 70 on board in 10 overs. The skipper Rohit Sharma walked back to pavilion after scoring 21 off 13.

For Hong Kong, Ayush Shukla and Mohammad Ghazanfar took a wicket each.
Chasing a target of 193, Hong Kong lost their first wicket early after Arshdeep Singh removed dangerous Yasim Murtaza for 9.
With Babar going strongly from one end, Ravindra Jadeja ended Nizakat Khan’s journey on crease with a direct hit from point.
Jadeja then dismissed Babar Hayat to put Hong Kong on back foot. Babar played a good knock of 41.
Avesh then broke the partnership between Aizaz Khan and Kinchit Shah by hitting Khan’s wickets. Soon, Bhuvneshwar removed Shah.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, and Ravindra Jadeja all bagged a wicket each for India.
