CB vs NW: Northern Warriors beat Chennai Braves by 34 runs. With this victory, they move from seventh place to fourth place

CB vs NW Match Highlights: After winning the toss Northern Warriors decided to bat first. In the 16th match of the Abu Dhabi League – T10, Northern Warriors came on to bat with Usman Khan and Adam Lyth. Both the players were on a different planet today as they both struck 97 runs opening wicket partnership.

In the Powerplay, the Warriors scored 33 runs and made the batting look so simple. Usman and Lyth were crucial in posting a total of 141/3 in 10 overs.

CB vs NW: Usman Khan and Adam Lyth’s Impressive Knock

The Northern Warriors opener Usman Khan played one of the best performances of his career as he was smashing boundaries left and right. Usman scored 65 runs in 24 balls with 4 fours and 5 amazing sixes. He was batting at a strike rate of 270.83.

Adam Lyth on the other hand also played a crucial role in scoring a quick 54 runs off 25 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes. He was batting at a strike rate of 216. Adam Lyth made sure that the Warriors post a good total to defend against the mighty Chennai Braves.

The Chennai side was struggling to stop the run flow of Northern Warriors but only Olly Stone and Raza picked up wickets in the first innings. Olly Stone capped two wickets and conceded 27 runs in his 2 overs. Raza on the other hand picked up one wicket and thus was able to restrict Northern Warriors to 141/3 in 10 overs.

CB vs NW: Chennai Braves on the Chase

The brave side was coming into bat with a lot of pressure as their bowlers were unable to stop the run flow of the Warrior’s side. But the Brave side was positive at the start but failed to start the innings in a good fashion.

No one really batted for Chennai, as players scored Rossington (9), Malan (15), and Brathwaite (36). James Fuller fought until the end but with a lack of support from the other end, he was able to score only 36 runs in 16 balls. Skipper Raza was unfortunate as he was back to the pavilion for a duck.

Parnell picked up two wickets in his two overs and stayed as the leading wicket-taker for the Warriors in this match. Irfan, Mithun, and Udana all three of them picked up one wicket to stop Chennai Braves from chasing down the target of 141. Chennai was able to score only 105/5 wickets in 10 overs.

Usman Khan won player of the match for putting up one of his best career performances while breaking barriers left and right. Usman hit 65 runs in 24 balls, including five incredible sixes. His strike rate while batting was 270.83.
