GT vs RCB Match Highlights:
Gujarat Titans recorded their eighth win of the season as they beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets at the Brabourne Stadium on Saturday.
Chasing a target of 171, Gujarat Titans lost their first wicket in the form of Wriddhiman Saha when the team was at 51 in 7.3 overs.
Though both the openers Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha ensured a blistering start for their team Gujarat before RCB’s spin talent Hasaranga got rid of Saha. Another spinner in the squad, Shahbaz Ahmed, did wonder too and dismissed first Shubman Gill and then the captain Hardik Pandya.
Two overs later, Gujarat Titans lost the wicket of Sai Sudharsan as well. The young batter managed to score 20 runs and got dismissed by Wanindu Hasaranga. But with the joint efforts of David Miller and Rahul Tewatia Gujarat succeeded to record one more victory.
The South African powerhouse Miller scored a quick 39 runs off 24 balls at a strike of 162.5, while Tewatia, who impressed all with his batting skills many times before as well, once again helped his team to win a game. The left-handed batter played brilliant innings of 43 runs in just 25 deliveries with the help of five fours and two sixes.
After winning the toss and elected to bat, Royal Challengers Bangalore started their today’s match campaign on a good note with 10 runs in the first over but witnessed a major setback in the form of FAF du Plessis, the captain of RCB, who left early without even scoring a single run.
Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar both played sensible cricket and scored the fifties against the table toppers Gujarat Titans. Kohli and Patidar did 99 runs partnership for the second wicket before the Patidar got out on 52. After few deliveries Mohammed Shami bowled Kohli. The former RCB captain scored 58 runs.
Glenn Maxwell cameo of 33 in just 18 deliveries and Mahipal Lomror’s terrific effort in the last over, in which he smashed two sixes helped RCB to post a total of 170.
For Gujarat Titans, Pradeep Sangwan grabbed two wickets while all others, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Shami, Rashid Khan, and Alzarri Joseph took a wicket each.
