The number of overs to bowled will be revised as per the ICC-set overs per hour rate (14.11 over/ hour) if there will be delay or any interruption that forces loss of playing time.
While as per the latest ICC rules, it should be minimum of 10 overs bowled from both the sides in order to see the match results. The ICC (International Cricket Council) has recently announced this news for the knockouts.
T20 World Cup 2022: What if the semi-final called-off due to rain?
The ICC has announced reserve days for the wash out knockout games. If any chance the semi-final will not be played on the original scheduled date then that game will be played on reserve day. The game will start from the same position on the reserve day.
If the game was not even happened on the reserve day, then the team who tops the points table will be announced as winner of that match.
While if the rain interrupts final and the match will not even happened on the reserve day too. In that case, both the teams will be announced as the joined champions of T20 World Cup 2022.
For those not aware, the same incident happened during the 2002 Champions Trophy. The match was didn’t happen on both the original and reserve days and thus India and Sri Lanka were announced as the joint-winners.
