South African ace Chris Morris has politely disagreed with his national teammate Dale Steyn over his recent comments in regards to the Indian Premier League. Last month, fast bowler Steyn stated that the Indian top-tier league is less rewarding than the likes of the Lanka Premier League or Pakistan Super League. 37-year-old Dale Steyn has opted out of the Indian Premier League this season. The premier fast bowler experienced a flop show in his last IPL where he plied his trade with RCB. He only featured in three games for the Bangalore-based franchise in 2020 and was later benched for the rest of the season.

On the other hand, Morris had a decent season for RCB last year. Morris has been one of the hot-sellers in the last couple of IPL auctions. Last year, he was picked by RCB for a sum of INR 10 crore and in this year’s mini-auction, he was purchased by Rajasthan Royals for a grand sum of INR 16.25 crores. RR made Morris the highest ever paid cricketer in an IPL auction. Morris stated that Steyn has his set of opinions that he doesn’t agree with.
“No, I don’t feel the same (on Steyn’s opinion on IPL). Dale’s a free spirit, Dale’s one of the legends of the game, Dale’s one of my favourite people in the world. Dale’s got his opinions, he will be outspoken about his opinions. I’m not going to delve into it too much and it was just the case of Dale feeling at that time what Dale was feeling – what he was feeling emotionally or physically or mentally,” Morris said as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo.
“Whatever he feels that’s what he feels, and I’m happy to have a conversation with him about it. But, we’re all different animals, we’re all different people and we have different opinions and that’s what makes the world go around,” Morris added. IPL is scheduled to begin on April 9, 2021.
