Mooney & Gardner confirmed for The Hundred’s Women’s Competition:
Both Bethany Louise Mooney and Ashleigh Gardner have been approved for The Hundred’s Women’s Competition. This tournament is going to be held this summer. In The Hundred, each player of the eight women’s team can get three number of overseas players in their 15-players squad. On 11th March (Wednesday), a recent international signings announcement is confirmed.
Five players have declared in which three players are of the T20 World Cup-winning squad of Australia. Beth Mooney is going to play for Welsh Fire along with Meg Lanning & Jess Jonassen.
Other Players:
Fast bowler Nicola Carey & all-rounder Ash Gardner also have been confirmed and signed by Northern Superchargers and Birmingham Phoenix respectively. Marizanne Kapp, all-rounder of South Africa is signed by Oval Invincibles and Londin Spirit picked Chloe Tryon.
Other than Welsh Fire, only the Invincibles have finished their international players’ allotment. Kapp will be enrolled with Dane van Niekerk and Rachael Haynes.
All other teams still have places to fill. After Sophie Devine was approved early, Gardner is the second overseas player in Phoenix. Alyssa Healy is going to join Carey at the Superchargers. And Deandra Dottin, West Indies all-rounder and Tryon will join Spirit.
Manchester Originals, Trent Rockets, and Southern Braves are the other three teams who didn’t declare an overseas player for the latest round and still have one vacant place to fill before the competition is going to start on 22nd July.
Chief of The Hundred, Beth Barrett-Wild said that “it is nice to see more five overseas international stars signing up to get participate in The Hundred this summer. The tournament is creating momentum gradually and it is fantastic to see the increasing list of outstanding talents included in the eight sides”.
