KL Rahul Scored A Record-Breaking 132 Runs And Posted A Target Of 206 Runs:
Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) locked horns with the Royal Challengers of Bangalore (RCB) in Game 6 of the Indian Premier League ( IPL) 2020.
After RCB chose to bowl, the KXIP openers offered a wonderful start to the 50-year relationship. RCB walked back into the game courtesy of another tremendous effort by Yuzuvendra Chahal.
KL Rahul kept a solid end and started to stack on the runways, going berserk towards the end. Rahul finished with a record-breaking 132, when Punjab ended with 206, presenting a Himalayan challenge for the Virat Kohli-led RCB.
RCB, chasing a massive total, got off to a disastrous start, losing three wickets in the powerplay. Punjab kept chipping in with the wickets, and never allowed the RCB batsmen to get back to the game. The dominant performance of the spinners led the team to cap off a comfortable 97 run-victory over RCB.
As It Happened:
If there is something called ‘comprehensive,’ it is exemplified in Dubai by the KL Rahul-led side. After a nail-biting finish on Sunday, this is as one-sided as it might have been. Right from the start, the RCB was miserable, as the chase never really got going. They needed either Kohli or de Villiers to step up, but they were both dismissed without much effect.
To add to their woes, the Punjab bowlers were gorgeous today. The seamers were incisive, and the two leggies were massively impressed. Anil Kumble has a big smile on his face, and why not! After the last disappointment, this is going to be a shot in the arm of any Punjab player. A lot of introspection is required for RCB. For now, one only has to stand up and applaud the man who has undoubtedly played one of the greatest innings in IPL history! KL Rahul-Take a bow!
