Argentina’s legend Diego Maradona passed away at the age of 60 years on November 25, 2020. Regarded as one of the greatest footballers, Diego Maradona suffered from a cardiac arrest at his home. The “Hand of God” was known for his alcohol and drug addiction which caused him several health problems throughout his life.

Earlier this year, the 1986 World Cup winner was treated for brain surgery. In 2004, Maradonna was hospitalized with issues regarding heart and respiratory problems. The footballing maestro was again admitted to a hospital in 2019 with internal bleeding in the stomach.

Almost everyone from the football fraternity paid their respect to one of the footballing gods of the world. Indian current and former cricketers also paid their tribute to Diego Maradona via their respective social media accounts. Diego Maradona visited India back in 2011 for an exhibition game in Kolkata. India’s ace Sourav Ganguly played a host to Diego Maradona for the “Diego versus Dada” charity game. Maradona, however, didn’t feature in the game.
