If Given An Opportunity, I Will Give My Best To Win Final For Team With The WTC Trophy- Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj, the Indian fast bowler, looks forward to attending the world test final against New Zealand. It is exciting to see whether Siraj is chosen for the biggest battle with the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma. Also, Umesh Yadav and Shardul Thakur have included the Indian team.

Siraj meanwhile is keeping himself mentally prepared. “For me, the World Test Championship final is just like a World Cup match. I will treat the WTC final like that. We have performed so well in the WTC and now this is the final match. I just want to go and give my best if given a chance,” Siraj told in an exclusive interview.

India, lead by Virat Kohli, is busy preparing for the huge match. To feel the conditions comfortably, the team played a four-day intra-squad match.

In its second test at Edgbaston, New Zealand defeated England by eight wickets, and they’re prepared to take part in a WTC final that begins on Friday, June 18.

Siraj, who has played 5 Tests, 1 ODI, and 3 T20Is in his career believes that India’s bowling unit has an advantage over New Zealand.

“Our bowling unit is so strong. It’s stronger than New Zealand’s. Virat bhaiya told me – ‘Mian, aise hi perform karte rahoge to bahot aage jaoge” (You will go a long way if you keep performing like this. I am eager to be a part of the playing eleven in the WTC Final. If given an opportunity, I would love to win the final for my team and with it the WTC trophy,” the 27-year-old, who had a great tour of Australia earlier and was a key player in India’s unforgettable series win Down Under, further told in the interview.

Siraj was in Australia when Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri conveyed to him the sad news of his father’s death. He had the choice of returning home and performing his dad’s death ritual. However, the pacer of Hyderabad opted to remain behind and set the country and its cricket duty first.

Since completion of the series against the Australians as the top winner for his side, Siraj offered a magnificent homage to his late father, collecting 13 wickets in 3 tests, including one 5-wicket haul.

Siraj, who just made his test debut against Australia in Melbourne a few weeks ago, aspires to win the WTC Championship.”The WTC win will be a tribute to my father. I want to win as many trophies as I can to honour him,” Siraj signed off.
