The Sri Lankan cricket is all set to play the test series against Pakistan, starting July 16, despite facing political and financial crisis in the country.
The situation in the Island is not appropriate as recently the citizens of the country headed into the President’s house and burned down the Prime Minister’s home, which left no choice in front of both high positioning leaders to speak about the resignation from their respected post.
However, despite all these tensions in the country, the Australian men’s team recently returned their home safely after playing one-month all-format series against Sri Lanka. While Indian women’s team also toured Sri Lanka in the last week of June and first week of July for 3-match T20s and 3ODIs.
The Babar Azam-led Pakistan side is highly charged to lock horns with Sri Lanka for the 2-match test series to secure more points in the WTC standings.
Sri Lanka, on the other side, also high on confidence after defeating the mighty Australia in the final test of their recently completed series with Australia to level the competition by 1-1.
The first game between Sri Lanka and Pakistan will take place at the Galle International Stadium in Galle from July 16 to 20. While Second test will be played at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo from July 24 to July 28.
