KL Rahul gave a massive update on his fitness after undergoing a successful surgery in Germany on Wednesday. The Karnataka lad provided good news to his fans in the form of announcing his recovery news after a successful surgery.
The reliable opener was appointed as team India’s skipper against the recently completed South Africa before the groin injury ruled him out.
KL Rahul, who is now on the road of recovery, took to his Twitter account and extended his gratitude to his fans for their support and prayers, he wrote, “Hello everyone. It’s been a tough couple of weeks but the surgery was successful. I’m healing and recovering well. My road to recovery has begun. Thank you for your messages and prayers. See you soon.”
However due to the effect of the injury, he was unable to travel with the all-format team to the United Kingdom for the big series against England, including a one-off test.
The fifth and final test of the last year’s India versus England series will take place on July 1, which India lead by 2-1.
KL Rahul had a brilliant show in England last year when the right-handed batter had recorded 315 runs in 4 games and remained the third highest run-getter in the series. The kind of batter he is, the team will surely miss his presence in the side.
His recurring injuries is a major concern for the BCCI and Indian fans as the star Indian batter has missed four series in the last seven months with injuries.
And his absence in the important tour of England has put the team management in complete dilemma. Team India, who are in UK, are still looking to find a reliable replacement of Rahul at the top of the batting order for the Edgbaston Test.
With the skipper and the permanent opening batter Rohit Sharma suffering from Covid-19, KL Rahul would’ve ideally been given India’s captaincy for one-off test against England.
Although, head coach Rahul Dravid in his virtual press conference on Wednesday has said that Rohit has not yet ruled out of the series, and the medical team is still monitoring.
