Moeen Ali Hurts His Ankle
Huge blow for CSK as Moeen Ali Hurts His Ankle: As the cases of injury continue to harm the performance in IPL 2022, the Chennai franchise now received another major blow, this time in the form of Moeen Ali’s injury.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK)’s star all-rounder Moeen Ali hurts his ankle during the training session. According to a news report published by Espncricinfo, Ali suffered an injury to his ankle during the practice sessions on Saturday.
Though the retained all-rounder Moeen was not the part of last game, the defending champion CSK played on April 17, as he failed to keep his 2021 charm into this year’s IPL and was struggling to find runs with the bat.
Ali had played a key role in CSK’s title win in 2021 when he scored 357 runs with the bat and took 6 wickets with the ball.
But the Englishman has struggled with his form this season as he only managed to score just 87 runs in five matches at an average of 17.40. He was impactless with the ball as well as he is yet to take a single wicket this season.
This is the third injury the CSK franchise, as earlier a back injury forced their speedster Deepak Chahar to miss the complete tournament followed by pacer Adam Milne, who was also ruled out after suffering a hamstring injury after the first match of the tournament.
The 4-time IPL champion is scheduled to play two games this week: on April 25th against Punjab Kings, and on May 1st against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
One of the most consistent teams in the history of IPL has just recorded two wins in seven matches, and currently sitting in the ninth spot in the points table.
They need to win their upcoming match against Punjab Kings to be in the race for playoffs. The cricket news website stated that the CSK team has been dealt an injury concern after allrounder Moeen Ali hurt his ankle during a training session. It was learned that “the franchise is waiting for scan results after he picked up the injury on Saturday.”
