Former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar believes that India is in a better position in the batting department than Pakistan.
Ahead of the marquee clash in the Men’s T20 World Cup on October 23. Claiming that the Rohit Sharma-led side has four or five match winners in excellent form.
In less than three weeks, India and Pakistan will face each other in the Super 12. At stage of the T20 World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
While India has players like Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav in form ahead of the showpiece event, Pakistan doesn’t have much firepower with the bat aside from captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, with their middle order proving to be a major weak link.
“Team India have had some good games against Pakistan in the Asia Cup, and what the Indian team would be weighing is that it is a more complete team, which is not dependent on just one or two individuals.”
“I believe that Pakistan is overly reliant on their top-order batsmen, such as Babar and Rizwan, in the batting department.” The Indian team, on the other hand, is not reliant on a few players. There are four or five match winners and they are in peak form, so from a batting standpoint, I believe the Indian team is in a better position,” Bangar said on Star Sports’ ‘Cricket Live’ show.
Bangar admits that India is a little behind Pakistan in terms of speed, but believes that the team has enough skills to outclass their archrival. “If you look at the bowling part, they obviously have the speed, they’ve always had that.”
“However, the Indian team has the skill in the sense that if Deepak Chahar replaces Jasprit Bumrah, you can clearly see his abilities to swing the ball upfront, as well as Arshdeep Singh, clearly see his abilities to swing the ball upfront, as well as Arshdeep Singh, who clearly see his abilities to swing the ball upfront, as well as Arshdeep Singh, who is our own version of the left-hander that we were looking for.”
“So, he’s a guy who can swing the ball both ways.” I believe the Indian team lacks speed. But they more than make up for it with their skill.”
India and Pakistan recently met twice in the Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates. While India triumphed in the league stage match, Pakistan triumphed in the Super Four stage match. Bangar concluded by stating that the lessons learned from recent matches. Against Pakistan will assist India in producing their best performances in Australia.
“There’s no doubt about it. The mood will be extremely upbeat. I’m sure the Indian team has taken a lot of positives from how the batting has performed. A harsh lesson for the bowlers, but it’s fortunate that it has come at a time. When they can reflect on it, re-draw their plans, and go forward and play their best cricket in Australia.”
